How Fendi and Versace made Fashion History

When rumors began circulating that that two brands would be working together, it sent the fashion world into a frenzy. Many people tried to predict what was going to happen, but no one could truly anticipate how groundbreaking the Fendace (Fendi and Versace) show would be. For the first time in fashion history, two creative directors swapped fashion houses to create a collection. So, Donatella Versace (the creative director of Versace) went to the Fendi house to create 25 looks. And Kim Jones (the creative director of Fendi) worked with the Versace house to create the other 25 looks in the collection. All of the looks were inspired by fashion archives from both Fendi and Versaces greatest eras.
"This is not a collaboration, me and Kim, we didn't talk about what I'm doing or what he is doing for Versace. I just took Fendi and I did Fendi how I see Fendi."- Donatella Versace
In essence, this collection was all about trust and friendship because both designers had to trust each other to represent their brand.

The show featured iconic models like Kate Moss, and Naomi Campbell and featured an emblem that would "swap"between Fendi and Versace's logos.
The Fendace show was a celebration of history and friendship. Showing the world that two established designers can work together to create a memorable moment in fashion history.
